O.K., I have (probably for the last time ever) a need to spec up
an Intel system for running OpenStep for a customer. Which is
pretty simple, and basically a clone of my home machine with
a 1.2gig processor dropped in for good measure.
My main worry is discs though - getting hold of 2 gig discs is impossible.
I've never put anything bigger than 4 gig in. has anybody tries running OS4.2
on a much larger disc (ignoring everything above the 2 gig mark obviously).
As they've insisted on IDE, with which I have limited expereince (and most of
it bad), then I am concerned that its going to screw up all those BIOS mapping
things that IDE needs if I just drop in a 27 gig disc, or whatevere the smallest
available is these days.
comments ?
cheers,
-pete.
