[Did anyone else find that Stephen's message (reply to Paul's original
message), arrived some time _after_ Paul's reply to his message? Looks like
NT is living up to its reputation! :-(]

} Since you work at SGI, I would suggest an SGI Indy monitor. They
} even use exactly the same cable, so they don't require the pigtail
} adaptor usually required for connecting up PC monitors. Done it,
} tried it, works beautifully.
I can confirm that Indy monitors do indeed "just work" on colour NeXTs:
thanks again to Stephen for pointing that out some time ago!
} I believe there are some old Sun ones which work in the same way.
I've tried it on a few (eg. Sparc 2 and Sparc 5 vintage, and also current
Sun 17" "entry-level" monitors), but it doesn't work; that's not to say it
won't work on any Sun monitors.
} I've managed to use PC monitors too. Look for ones that SyncOnGreen,
} and have BNC connectors. I forget exactly which model I used, but it
} was some time ago. Then get a pigtail connector from Jackie or
} someone else on the list.
Getting the right connector can be a pain: I know Mark Ankrah has some of
those "pig-tail" cables (ie. female 13W3 to RGB BNC). Some PC monitors with
the usual VGA connectors also work, but then you've got to get a (somewhat
rare, and damn expensive) female 13W3 to female VGA cable. Again, though,
I've found that the majority of PC monitors do NOT work with colour NeXTs.
