I was wondering if you knew whether or not this program was being aired in
the US (perhaps on PBS).

The TV programme referred to was probably "The passionate statistician"
which is part of the Open University's foundation course in mathematics,
MU120. The next broadcast of the program is on Wednesday 21 March 2001 at 1
a.m. on BBC 2.
