I thank Ray Thomas for a well written and well thought out reply. I should
emphasize two points at least.
1. There is a good argument for viewing the demographies of all Arab
nations (if not all Moslem nations) versus the demography of Israel. In
that case, my arguments are correct essentially.
2. I do not see Israel alone as starting an atomic war. I do see
escalation from both sides or all sides as the danger. The principle of one
side (Israel) yielding territory and/or withdrawing troops vs another side
(the Arab nations) not yielding territory and not withdrawing *troops*
(formal or undeclared) after every major suicide bombing may well lead the
Israelis to draw the line somewhere. Otherwise it literally commits suicide
by permitting the present situation to continue and its population to die by
suicide bombings.
