"Inequality and the future of the welfare state - the role of microdata"
Nearly sixty years after the publication of the Beveridge Report, the
future of the welfare state is still central to public policy debate.
Where is Beveridge's welfare state headed ? Will analysis of the past
help in developing future policies? Unlike Beveridge, we have access to
a huge range of microdata and the tools to process them. How can we
ensure that the resultant evidence informs the debate ?
Andrew Dilnot, Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, will
address these issues in the Royal Statistical Society biennial Beveridge
lecture on Tuesday 22 May, at 5pm, at the Society's offices in Errol
Street.
The Lecture is followed by a wine reception.
Entry is by free ticket only. Please email [log in to unmask] for an
