's ok, Martin.
It +is+ quite terrifying, though it's usually only happened to me after
periods of prolonged insomnia, ie as a result of REM sleep deprivation. I
would, though, recommend the Julian Jaynes book, flawed though it is, as an
investigation of the roots of the matter.
As for what happens on acid, don't remind me, never again!!!
