no i posit an oral culture that does not record or centralise its texts but
distributes them amongst its population and is carried forth in the
memories(ie it exists in mnemonic space) of its people.
this endures dispite the ethnic cleansing which at times has been official
australian government policy.

i think it was alison who said you can't compare a literary culture to an
oral culture, so your comparison of other tribes here may not hold.
