Leeds International Jazz Education Conference: 22-23 March 2002
Call for Papers
The annual Leeds International Jazz Education Conference welcomes
delegates from around the world to participate in a range of practical
sessions, research presentations, workshops and performances. The 2002
conference will feature contributions from a range of jazz professionals.
The provisional programme includes presentations from Manfred Eicher
(Director, ECM Records), Robert Walser (editor of Keeping Time: Readings
in Jazz History), Richard Sudhalter (author of Lost Chords) and Wouter
Turkenburg (Chairman, IASJ).
Proposals are invited for papers on any area of jazz research, with
special consideration being given to work focusing on one of the two main
conference themes: Redefining Jazz and European Jazz. Individual
presentations should be no more than twenty minutes in duration.
Proposals should take the form of a title followed by an abstract of not
more than 200 words. Deadline for submission is 1st February 2002.
Decisions will be notified by February 7th 2002.
