Course Director: BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology
BATH SPA UNIVERSITY COLLEGE
GBP23,880-GBP31,555
This is a new senior lectureship created as a result of continued growth
in Creative Music Technology at Bath Spa University College. The
additional responsibility of Course Director derives from the appointment
of the current postholder, Dr Geoff Smith, to Head of School of Music.
With an annual intake of 64 students, a network of four partner colleges
delivering Year 1, fruitful partnerships with a number of global
companies, facilities second to none, an expanding research profile and
all within a dynamic institutional context, you will be taking the reins
of a nationally significant programme. The successful candidate will have
full operational responsibility for the programme and will play a key role
in its continued development. S/he will also be expected to deliver
advanced level modules in software synthesis and processing and in
computer music composition. Applicants should possess a good honours
degree in relevant discipline, successful experience of recent teaching
within this subject area at HE level and demonstrable interest in
curriculum innovation and quality assurance. Candidates should also
possess good leadership, communication, organisational and liaison skills.
A higher degree and a developing research record would be an advantage.
The School of Music's facilities are first-rate, set in a campus of
outstanding natural beauty near the World Heritage City of Bath. The post
is permanent with effect from 1st September 2001. Closing date: Friday,
6th April 2001 Further details and application forms are available from
