There are still a few places left for the forthcoming IFM Healthcare
Study Day
From Information for Health to Building the
Information Core: the NHS Information Strategy
and its impact on health libraries
11.00am-4.00pm on Wednesday 25th April 2001
Health Services Management Centre, University of
Birmingham
The NHS Information Strategy has made tremendous
progress since the publication of Information
for Health (IfH) in 1998. Though the document
makes little mention of libraries, the
information management & technology developments
that have resulted from it have significant
implications for health library and information
services. The emphasis in IfH was on a national
strategy for local implementation. The study day
highlights the main elements of IfH and
subsequent national policies that impact on the
NHS information strategy. It also provides an
opportunity to find out about the different ways
in which the NHS information strategy is being
implemented at national, regional and local
levels.
This study day is aimed at healthcare
professionals and health information
professionals with an interest in the
development of the NHS information strategy, and
in particular, its impact on health libraries.
