In response to comments about the changes to Medline, I'd just like to
clarify a couple of points:
As I understand it, the changes to the Medline database were initiated by
the National Library of Medicine, thus affecting ALL publishers of Medline,
including PubMed.
The new version, Medline+ would fill over 50 CD-ROMs. SilverPlatter made
the decision to produce Medline+ on DVD to keep the number of discs to a
manageable level. The only alternative to Medline+ on DVD is to subscribe
to a web based version.
SilverPlatter will continue to offer an updated version of Medline on
CD-ROM, but it will have less functionality than Medline+ and will still
fill over 20 CDs. It will be available as a full set (1966+) or last 6
years only.
For further information about Medline+, please contact your SilverPlatter
Distributor. NB We at Optology are no longer a SilverPlatter Distributor.
If you would like to know more about upgrading your system to run Medline+,
please contact Optology.
