Just for info
Particularly vivid example I've found of searching problem using MeSH- just
passing on in case its useful for anyone else for training, ie you can do a
search which *ought* to work and still get wildly irrelevant results.
I did a search which included the MeSH term 'quality of life' exploded, for
entries added to Medline in the last couple of months. And got a 1989
reference with an abstract starting 'Radio frequency interference will
provide one of the most difficult challenges to systematic searchs for
Extraterrestrial Intelligence'! Wondering if this meant we were already
considering the quality of life of extraterrestrials...
I suspect the date being so old is due to the Spaceline database being
integrated into Medline (I have also read some entertaining refs re
emergency medicine in space for another update..) And by tracking back
thro the trees, I found that this ref has 'data interpretation, statistical'
as a MeSH term, which is in several tree including the one under 'Quality
of life'..
