Senior Library Assistant
Applications are invited for this post in our very busy biomedical academic
library, which offers high quality library and information services to
students, researchers and staff.
The successful candidate will be a hard working and outgoing individual who
enjoys working as part of a small dynamic team. He or she will have
excellent communication and IT skills, and be able to work cheerfully and
effectively under pressure in a multi task environment. Duties will be
varied and will include stock management, issue desk work, user education
and systems/IT applications work. Library functions are automated using
the Sirsi Unicorn system. Previous experience in an academic library and
familiarity with computerised library systems will be advantageous. THE
POST WILL OFFER EXCELLENT ALL ROUND CAREER DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE TO A
RECENTLY QUALIFIED PROFESSIONAL. An approved Library Association
chartership programme is available. Salary will be on a scale starting from
approx £16,500 per annum (incl of London Allowance) according to
qualifications and experience. The post is for one year in the first instance.
