Dear all
Just to say 2 things:
1. I have been doing some direct emailing to the student and her supervisor.
I suggested that Dawn considered doing her questionnaire in the text of an
email, which seemed the obvious answer.
At first she didnt think she could do it, but she has now managed
successfully. If anyone would like a copy of the email including the (short)
questionnaire, I will be happy to forward it. Whilst her initial action was
unwise, her project looks interesting and now she has done the work to put
it into a 'safe' format, it would be good to support it?
2. Personal opinion: I dont think it will have done any harm to have raised
the issue of risks of attachments, and now its up to us as senders and
recipients to be aware of that (I dont envy Susan her existing workload of
error messages).
Like many things, I suspect some people dont take risks seriously until they
are directly affected (eg how many of us only started saving large docs
regularly while working on them after we had lost or ruined one?!)

Dear Tony/lis-medical
If all messages had to come through me, as list owner, for vetting, I'd
never find time for the day job - I already have to deal with huge numbers
of error messages. All I can practically do is rely on people to follow
JISCmail guidance, and contact them when they don't
