scheduled the following 4 days of workshops held at University of Newcastle
aimed at website developers.

5th Sep Web Site Development with Active Server Pages
6th Sep Server-Side Site Management Techniques
7th Sep Databases on the Web
There are a few places left on all 4 days but book quickly to ensure a
place.
Costs are £120 for one day for HE/FE staff. Discounted prices are
available for those attending more than one day. Any of the one day
sessions can be attended individually, or you can do the whole event

Content Management on the Web
Tuesday 4th Sep
This workshop is aimed at anyone who has created web pages in HTML and
wishes to learn about new developments in content creation and management.
Includes XML, Style Sheets, Metadata and Dynamic
HTML. ----------------------------------------------------------------------
Web Site Development with Active Server Pages (ASP)
Wednesday 5th Sep
This practical workshop is aimed at web site developers who would
like to understand how ASPs can be used to develop dynamic web
content. It gives both an overview of the potential of ASPs, and
teaches the practical skills needed to use them. Topics covered
include basic VBScript syntax, writing dynamic content with ASP,
installing and configuring ASP, handling HTML forms with ASP,
using ASP components and an introduction to database integration
with ASP.

Server-Side Site Management Techniques
Thursday 6th Sep
This workshop is aimed at people who provide web content for the internet
or an internal intranet and wish to learn more about server-based site
management techniques. The workshop is principly based on Microsoft
ASP/IIS technology but the techniques and concepts investigated are generic
and can be applied to other types of web servers (e.g. Apache)

Databases on the Web
Friday 7th Sep
This is a practical workshop for users of the web who wish to connect
purpose designed or pre-existing databases to the internet. The workshop
gives an overview of the tools and techniques available and teaches the
practical skills necessary to use them. Topics covered include the
Access web wizard, Active Server Pages (ASP), Cold Fusion and CGI.
