A one day Library Association workshop on 9 October, in London
For those who have to supervise others as part of their wider role within
the library this workshop will enable participants to undertake the basic
tasks involved in supervising staff.
By the end of the event participants will have:
* explored their purpose in being a supervisor
* looked at setting goals and allocating work
* established standards for work to be done
* discovered how to build a motivating environment
* identified ways of briefing staff and keeping them informed
* looked at how to give and receive praise and criticism
Who will benefit from attending?
Those who supervise staff as part of their role or new senior library
assistants who would like to clarify their role and build on their
supervision skills. The day is not intended for experienced line managers.
