An opportunity has arisen for a team player considering a career in
Librarianship to gain experience in an academic library. The post involves
a period of extended training in a wide range of library environments.
Training will be both formal and hands-on, and will involve an introduction
to current practices in a large academic library, as well as the possibility
of external visits and courses.
A degree and experience of working with the public and using libraries as a
customer are essential, as is a determination to follow a career in Library
and Information Services. Successful applicants will also have excellent
communication and IT skills. Ability to work under pressure and experience
of working in libraries would be an advantage.
Salary is at CRA1 point 6, £11,929 per annum inclusive of London Weighting
Allowance. In addition, Library Services offers a generous leave allowance
and a flexi-time system.
