Assistant Librarian: Information Skills Training (Secondment cover - fixed
term for two years)
Applications are invited for this key role leading and developing an
innovative site-wide programme of training in the use of the full range of
learning and information resources provided by the Medical Library. Duties
also include providing significant input to the information skills training
programme that is delivered as part of the undergraduate medical curriculum.
We are seeking a professionally qualified graduate librarian with two or
more years' post-qualification experience in an academic, medical or
scientific library or other relevant experience. Experience of delivering
information skills training to staff or students is required. Candidates
should demonstrate a high level of skills in information retrieval and
information management and in finding, evaluating and using health and
medical information, both printed and electronic. Excellent IT and
presentation skills are also essential. Experience of designing training
resources and developing Web-based materials is highly desirable.
Salary will be AR1/2 range, £19,585 - £28,363 inclusive of London Allowance
per annum. In addition the post attracts a generous leave allowance and
superannuation benefits.
