We have a problem in that we have bibs with multiple items
attached which are variously:
loanable but not reservable
loanable and reservable
non-loanable/non-reservable
We want the automatic web opac processing to allow bib holds on
the first returned loanable/reservable copy even if there is a
loanable/non-reservable copy available [i.e. the normal loan copy
may be reserved even if the short-loan copy is available].
The system (and III) can't cope with this scenario. The denyifavail
setting blocks the hold if a short loan copy is available. The
system setting allows all holds even if a loanable/reservable copy
is available.
The loanable/non-reservable copies have an ITYPE of 3 which was
supposed to have been set up in the request rule file.
Has anyone a similar problem or a workable solution?
Thanks for your help.
Catherine
