Another publisher's voice..
As a publisher, AAAS tries to release its information on 'Science' and
'Science Online' as soon as possible. Prices are set over the summer each
year, and generally disseminated to subscription agencies before September
each year. Science Online's prices have not changed since we instituted
site-wide licensing in 1998, and they're expected to remain the same for
2002. All our pricing is available online at
www.sciencemag.org/subscriptions/inst-sol-purchase.dtl

Publishers Leave It So Late to Make Their Subscription Pricing Decisions
I do think this is also in publishers interests to provide the pricing
information at an earlier date to get renewals earlier as well.
We send our prices to the agents early in July. The 2002 pricing
details were available on our Web site in the middle of July:
http://www.turpion.org/main/sr.phtml
Then in August we send the Turpion Catalogue to all current
subscribers. The cover letter contains the following headers:
Pricing Information
Grace Period
Licence Agreement
Online Access Details
Ordering Information
Contact Details
