Management and implementation of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs)
within Universities and Colleges
A UCISA funded survey
The introduction of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) is a major
investment for any institution. How institutions have or are looking to
introduce, implement (through staff development, technical and student
support) and manage these systems, including links with MIS systems is
of significant interest to the sector as a whole. A UCISA TLIG survey
is being conducted to gather information on this important area of
activity.
You are asked to complete this questionnaire in order to provide an
operational perspective. We would also encourage you to bring this
survey to the attention of appropriate people at your institution who
are using or considering a VLE in a different context or department.
This survey will focus on:
Ø Decision making process for the selection of VLEs
Ø Strategy for the implementation of VLEs
Ø Technical support provided for VLEs
Ø Implementation of VLEs, including staff development, student
training and dissemination
The survey can be completed at http://www.ucisa.ac.uk/TLIG/vle2.htm
The deadline for completion of the survey is 30th March 2001.
The results of the survey will be published on the UCISA web pages and
publicised via this list.
