Hello all,
Just to let everyone know that we had a very successful inaugural launch of
the FISH core membership yesterday in London. I'll be sending round further
information soon. I'm hoping to add copies of the presentations at the
meeting to the list file archive later today or tomorrow (and possibly some
photos...).
Following the discussion here on the list the first thing to report, though,
is that we will be hosting an 'e-conference' on the subject of GIS standards
immediately after the public launch of FISH at the mda's real-world
conference in September (see www.mda.org.uk for details). Likely start dates
will be 17th or 24th September.
If you missed the last e-conference, basically its just a few days or weeks
set aside to discuss a single issue on the list. Word processor, Powerpoint
etc files to support the discussion will be made available in the fish list
archive. I will be looking for volunteers nearer the time to submit short
'papers' and discussion documents for this event, but in the meantime if you
would like to be involved, contact me off list on [log in to unmask]
The next face-to-face meeting will be in late November, hopefullly as guests
of RCAHMS in Edinburgh.
Thanks to everyone that made the meeting such a success.
