The plan (still mostly in my head at the moment) is that, once the inaugural
meeting on the 18th July has confirmed the direction of work for FISH, the
list will host a programme of e-conferences during the late Summer and
Autumn. These would follow a common format (similar to that of the Timelines
conference last year) with some papers and other presentation formats (e.g.
PowerPoint) posted into the list archive for folks to download and read at
leisure, longish postings to the list from volunteer 'speakers', and general
debate and discussion on the list. The conferences will be 'advertised' and
this and other mailing lists (e.g. britarch, smrforum) to encourage new
members to join FISH for specific events.
Bear in mind that FISH will be formally 'launched' at this years mda
conference in Norwich on 12th-14th September. I would hope to have the first
e-conference ready to go immediately after that.
