Subject: CULTIVATE UK web site launches
Press release on the UK CULTIVATE web site
BEGINS
EU CULTIVATE PROJECT WEB SITE FOR THE UK
The European Commission funded CULTIVATE project has a new web site
dedicated to the interests of UK libraries, museums and archives.
The EC's Information Society Technologies (IST) Programme contains many
interesting opportunites and exciting projects involving the cultural
heritage sector, but to date there has been no portal for information
dedicated to the UK cultural heritage sector exclusively on the IST
Programme.
The CULTIVATE project aims to increase awareness of the EC's IST Programme
for the cultural heritage sector, and the creation of national-level web
sites as well as a European-level site is part of its work.
The CULTIVATE UK site includes information on UK events, a list of IST
Programme cultural heritage projects with UK involvement, and links to
official EC information on the Programme. Other features include a regularly
updated News section, and a Search facility.
