Hello again all,

We now have a new title for the forum, so it follows in this media friendly
world that we need a new logo!

Rather than just come up with one, I thought it might be a bit of fun to
invite everyone to take part in a design competition, with the winning entry
to be unveiled at the formal launch of the forum at the mda conference next
month. FISH can't offer a prize, unfortunately, but we can at least offer
the title of 'Graphic Designer to the Forum on Information Standards in
Heritage' to whoever comes up with the winning design, plus a grateful
acknowledgement on the forum web-site and thus global fame...

So, if you or anyone you know (they don't have to be a subscriber to this
list) would like to come up with a logo for FISH the details are set out
below - closing date for entries is 28th August.

**PLEASE SEND ANY ENTRIES DIRECT TO ME AT [log in to unmask] NOT TO THE
LIST**

...and thanks in advance to all entrants!

Best wishes

Ed
Forum Co-ordinator

Design brief for a logo for FISH

Use
The logo must be suitable for use in the following circumstances
· Web site pages
· Letterhead
· Publication
· Conference display

It must be suitable for reproduction in black and white (e.g. for faxing).
It should use no more than one colour in addition to black (to keep down
cost of conventional printing. Alternative 'black and white / greyscale' and
'colour' entries are acceptable).
It must be recognisable at sizes down to as small as 2cm across.
It must be suitable for reproduction at A4 size for use in poster style
displays.

It must contain the wording 'Forum on Information Standards in Heritage'.

Format
Please supply entries as a digital file, either in .bmp (MS-Paint), or .gif
or .tif or jpeg, format.

Image
It should covey a modern and information technology related image, but with
references to heritage and the historic environment.
It should stress finding things, discovery, order emerging from chaos.
Fishy images are obvious but not compulsory!
