i have absolutely no quibble with simon's list of films [or
anyone else'e for that matter, such lists simply being as
kind of DNA of our own individual mental-emotional-spiritual
lives and thus different for everyone] . . . but i wonder
whether in introducing it he may have not [inadvertently,
i would imagine] come close to cutting the [or a] gordian
knot that has [some of] us so tied up . . . simon writes:
Here is a list of 18 films (in no particular order),
that while not always overtly philosophical do offer
their own answers to the human condition:
and i wnat to suggest merely that the human condition is
NOT a question . . . therefore there are not and there cannot be
any answers to it . . . nor does it require any answers . . . though
it may of course pose problems to which WE [rather than "it"]
would like to find solutions
