I'm with Jacqui, if only because it can be so difficult to unearth
the less immediately available: and groups like PolskiFilm or certain
archives don't post full listings online (we just spent a tough
couple of months with a seasoned archivist and a research student
finding a copy of a once-renowned New Zealand feature; much the same
is often true of, for example, media art and animation, especially
now so many of the pioneers are gone under earth's lid. The hyphen in
film-philosophy is, on the other hand, absolutely problematic, in the
best way. 'doing' film and 'doing' philosophy, philsophy doing film,
film doing philosophy, one way or another also requiring that we
insist on the arguments ass well as the challenges with which
specific film works present themselves to us.
(But replies to some at least of such quesries might well be better
sent off-list -- it only makes me nostalgic to think of popping down
to facets . . . )
