I salute your response Rose, but would offer a word of caution. I have been
indirectly referred to as evil and someone assumed that I am not an
American...
just for speaking out against the unbelievable over-dependence upon media
image in this tragic case. merely for refusing to mourn through my desire
to rage. merely in an attempt to always go against the grain.
my response is as much a romantic shot at individual sovereignty as it is a
desire to know myself as an American instead of knowing what I should be as
an American.
I am not ashamed of myself, Carolyn and Robert...not at all.
to quote Patti Smith:
In heart I am a Moslem; in heart I am an American;
In heart I am Moslem, in heart I'm an American artist,
and I have no guilt.
I seek pleasure. I seek the nerves under your skin.
***
I have not sold myself to God.
