an example of *correcting not discussing*:
I think Fylya (Fili Houtman) did a nice job of addressing the possibilities
of cinema within a Deleuzean philosophy in her post about the physical model
of reality that artists often use. Her interpretation of my use of becoming
is good when referenced against Deleuze and Guattari, but loses something of
the Hegelian intensity with which I intend the term, i.e., I am drawing a
slightly...
you know, I have figured out what gets me all riled up with, you (jmc: it is
your patronizing and often trite responses to posts on the list...referring
to people in the third person who are involved in a discussion with you, in
public, is just down right rude...and your style of "one-up-manship"
(rhetoric) is boring.
i have tried to have an open mind about your positions, but each time i
think you're beginning to be fair to others' (and my) views, you find a way
to say that we are "wrong," "misinformed," "dubious," "self-contradictory,"
"forgetful," etc.
so basically, piss off...you completely misread my post concerning "value"
through a poor attempt at reading my take on socialist theory. how could
you possibly know *what* i was really getting at if you failed to ask...
YOU NEVER ASK.
i am open for any criticism...i enjoy it...i have learned a lot from this
list...not about what i believe being right or wrong, but how others believe
and think and discuss...
you seem quite static.
to the list: i apologize for the off-topic commentary, but i get sick of
people nay-saying...especially "academics" who wear blinders for one
tradition...I salute filia and others for a continued wave of rhizome
production against the almost insurmountable wall of western linearity of
conretism which attempts to undo any rethingking of Right minded teleogy...
always historicize, folks. scholarship is in bad shape if we are limited to
a tradition that must be traced through jmc's ideological path: so far,
hegel through aristotle...
