If you want to use it for learning the new features of Fortran 90/95
try the F compiler from imagine1. It's a subset of Fortran 95; but
if you are writing new code it probably has all you want. There are
Linux and W95 versions available for download at
www.imagine1.com
There are also some books on F available from the same site.
Salford software (www.salford.co.uk) also has a free compiler, but I
think it's a Fortran 77 compiler.
You can also try www.fortran.com and follow some of the links. There
are some pretty cheap compilers available. I think NASOFT has a
educational version for under $100 (US).
