Hi Danielle,
If you allow guest access within the course but the sysadmin hasn't allowed
guest access overall, you will see the content areas but have to login to
access the communication features. Sysadmin like me don't necessarily like
allowing guest access overall, because it means all courses have some level
of access unless individual instructors secure their content. My solution is
to create a 'guest' account as a student account e.g. FA Guest and enroll it
in the appropriate course.
Hope that helps. Good luck!
Kate

Subject: Guest access
Hi
I am very new to the site and have come across my first tricky bit! Carl O
Keefe suggested that someone in in this community may be able to help.
I would like to allow a small number of guests to browse the site and the
content. At present, when I set up a guest access, the login page comes up
again once I try to open an attachment or document. This is strange as
when I try and go to the discussion board then the message is 'guest access
denied'
Is the only way to create the guests as administrators? If so, I am
worried that they can do anything with the System Admin access.
Any thoughts very greatly appreciated
Danielle
