Hi Bruce,
Many thanks for this, I knew there were reports out there but couldn't put
my finger on them. Also, by doing a straw poll I thought I might get an up
to date view rather than something which might be several months old. For
example, at Hull we have just undergone a big shift in our organisation of
T&L support. If anyone else knows about any similar reports that would be
appreciated.
By the way, does anyone know if there is a public document outlining what
insittutions are doing with their TQEF money? Can't find anything on the
HEFCE site, unless I'm looking in the wrong places.
regards
Paul

Paul,
About 12 months ago Helen Beetham [[log in to unmask]] et al did a
large scale survey on embedding learning technologies that will contain a
lot of the information you want. I also think that the Escalate project
(sorry I don't have url handy) has also been collecting this sort of data.
I will send out details separately to you alone.
Regards,
Bruce

Apologies for any cross-posting...
Hello everyone,
I'd be grateful if people could help me with a quick straw poll of learning
and teaching related units at their institution. At this stage I am
interested in the sort of setup which people have at their institutions. I
would simply like to get a snapshot of how other units are organised and
what sort of setup they have, such as whether they are a distinct group or
whether they have a centrally embedded role. I'll be happy to collate and
disseminate this information, if no-one has any objection.
The sort of information I am interested in is:
Name of unit (e.g. Centre for Learning Development at Hull)
Location within institution (e.g. computer services)
Number of staff involved
Remit (e.g. innovative in use of eLearning...)
Funding (central, project, mixture etc.)
Any other (brief) information you might wish to add
Many thanks in advance.
Paul
