Archive Scanner/Database coordinator

The Henry Moore Foundation, based in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, is seeking
to appoint a responsible and conscientious graduate, or person with
appropriate experience, as a scanning operative for its ongoing digitisation
programme, and to maintain and update records on our collections database
Archival Scanning
A methodical and accurate approach is required in the processing of up to
200,000 valuable documents:
· sorting and careful preparation of papers relating to the sculptor
Henry Moore's life
· scanning and indexing each item
· re-filing archive materials
Database coordinator
· checking information on The Foundation's collections database
against paper files
· updating provenance records from sales catalogues and correspondence
· editing existing collections data for publication
Computer literacy, including accurate keyboard skills, and a demonstrable
interest or qualification in 20th century art history or letters will be
essential. Full training will be given in the use of scanning equipment and
collections database.
The appointment is full time (Monday - Friday: 9.30am - 5.30pm) or
jobsharing, and the initial contract is for one year. The salary is in the
range £12000 - £13,500 (pro rata for jobsharing) depending on experience.
Holiday entitlement is 20 days per annum plus statutory days.
