At UCL we suspend students for non-payment of fees, as a last resort after
many reminders. Suspended students may be reinstated if they pay their
fees within a given time (usually about a month, but sometimes longer in
special circumstances) together with a reinstatment charge of £150 or 20%
of the fees, whichever is the smaller. This tends to reduce the numbers of
those deliberately withholding payment.
