We occasionally measure reducing substances in faeces (almost always on
children with D&V)and even more occasionally in urine. While this does not meet
the full rigour of EBP, my impression is that you only get positive results
when it is really obvious that the child has either a problem with sugar
intolerance, or there is good clinical evidence of galactoaemia.
