I recently stumbled across a problem that is obvious - the data on
BNP is only as good as the method used in the comparison
studies. Accordingly to cardiologists that I spoke to,
Echocardiography is a poor second to cardiac MRI, and the
studies with BNP and heart failure employ echocardiography (and
thus the variation and bias issues associated with it).
So, perhaps the data should be examined with this in mind?
