As discussed with you earlier, here are the data from the CSM (Committee of Safety in Medicine):
During the year 2000 the manufacturers supplied approx. 61 280 vials of synacthen 250 ng each and 2 592 vials of depot synacthen (1 mg each) in the UK. Unfortunately currently there is no data available on the incidence of anaphylactic shock during this period.
However, UK-wide between the years 1968 and 1999 there were 38 reports of anaphylactic shock, 7 of which were fatal.
World-wide between the years 1968 and 1995 there were 397 reports of anaphylactic shock, 63 of which were fatal.
