The introduction of clinical governance structure
within Hospital Trusts should ensure, at least
theoretically, an acceptable degree of quality
assurance regarding clinical issues. For compliance
with clinical governance standards, CHI is going to
inspect Hospitals in a similar way CPA inspects
Laboratories. How about non-clinical issues like hotel
services, catering, cleanliness which should also
satisfy accepatable standards. Health care delivery,
even within a DGH, is a complex one and total
governance or Trust governance should be the aim of
any Hospital management team who wants to harness
quality assurance for its clinical and non clinical
services. Clearly the task is awesome for a single
quality control officer. Each and every individual
within the organisation should have a role to play in
ensuring the delivery of a high quality service
(clinical and non clinical).
regards.
