I have just received details of the meeting "The Future of Pathology
Services: Delivering the Government's Modernisation Plan" to be held on 28th
February 2002. For such an important topic, why do these meetings have to be
so prohibitively expensive ?, £325 + VAT for the public sector and £425 +
VAT for the private sector. When you add on the cost of travelling to London
(where else!) from the far outposts in the regions, for what is essentially
a 5 hour meeting, the cost is ridiculous. Somebody is making a lot of money
out of these events (if many turn up).
So come on, let's have meetings on this subject brought around the country
and let's have more realistic pricing. We all have budgets to consider and I
for one would find it very difficult to justify such expenditure.
