Thank you, Jonathan, for this interesting article, which is particularly
relevant for me. We recently observed a significant discordance between two
CA-125 assays, presumably attributable to human anti-mouse antibodies,
although we haven't yet confirmed that with mouse IgG absorption studies. In
the course of our investigation, several consultants, including those from
the immunoassay manufacturers, commented that heterophile antibody
interferences, once very rare, are increasingly common.
