TRANSPORT INVESTMENT ANALYSIS
Short Course at the University of Leeds
16-18 May 2001
This course outlines the principles of investment appraisal based on
both financial appraisal and cost-benefit analysis. A number of
practical case studies of road and rail appraisal in Britain will be
included. Participants are encouraged to bring case study material of
investment appraisal in their own organisations to the course.
Provisional programme to cover the following:
- Principles of project appraisal; financial appraisal and
cost-benefit analysis
- Capital budgeting
- Financing transport projects
- Valuation of costs and benefits
- Risk and uncertainty in transport appraisal
- Framework approaches and multi-criteria methods
- Road project appraisal case study
- Public transport project appraisal
- Recent development in transport appraisal
