No specific experience with a similar situation with NeXT gear, but based
on experience with other electronic equipment, I cannot see what long term
harm can result if the equipment was not running when it got wet and the
cleaning and drying out process is thorough. The worst case scenario might
be invisible mould, but that could surely be cleaned off at a later date if
it becomes a problem.
Mechanical parts in the printers are another matter. Rust might develop in
places. Keyboards tend to be unpredicatable. I have one on which the l
doesnt always work. Impossible to take it completely apart, and sometimes
it needs hitting hard, and at other times it is fine.
I would say, do the best clean up job you can. Screw the insurance people
for as much as you can get, and keep your fingers crossed.
