I find this odd. Is there not an App like DAP which I run on Win 2000
(sorry!). This app allows you to resume downloads anytime you like and
eventually assembles a file from what it gleans in bits and pieces. It
opens several connections (to different mirrors if they exists, otherwise
to different ports of the same source. It does, however, seem to keep
everything in memory until a complete file can be assembled. But there
must surely be something that will save to disk periodically and which will
work on whatever OS you have.
I find this has daved me a lot of buggering about and starting over after
losing a connection.
