Oh, Good Luck with the vote tomorrow (for those who can and those who
can't!)
I was just taking advantage of a joke about the male need for pubs - as for
the roses, it seems that it was a single stalk, but the 16 year old
schoolgirl who wielded it faces a possible 15 year prison sentence. I don't
know if the roses were Latvian or not though.
As for being transfixed by cricket scores, I think I can be happily
hypnotized by almost anything, for a while, but the spells of chat-shows or
football league tables or shopping lists or allergy symptoms don't seem to
last, unlike poetry, that bugbear and delight of an art, that predates
America (the ' greatest nation in history' quoth B.Clinton) and I think
would not be happy at recruitment into a Civil Defence on behalf of
shiftyface (golly, that sounds like ...) I mean GWB.
Best
