Dear Ashida Chiemi,
If the baby looks yellow and everything else is o.k, that is ,the baby is
eating enough, has normal digestion, is not too tired, then we just tell the
mothers to lay the baby near the window so that it has a little bit of sun.
If the baby has other jaundice symptoms,(not just yellow skin), then we
encourage the mothers to breastfeed at least every 2-3 hours.
We also check that the mother has enough milk, if not we work on that.
In the case of other symptoms being present we also give the mother a
special tea which supports the
liver secretion and we give the baby homeopathic.
If we think that the jaundice is serious we make a laboratory test and if
the result is above 20 we give some phototherapie, with a lamp.
During the phototherapie we continue the breastfeeding every 2-3 hours.
I hope you find this helpful.
