Kia Ora Ashida
I am an independant midwife Auckland NZ. Generally
with jaundice in the healthy term neonate we encourage
regular breastfeeding, or feeding as some may choose
to formula feed. Provided the neonate is feeding 3-4
hourly for reasonable lengths of time, and is alert we
leave them alone. Obviously if there is a previous
history of jaundice with other children we might
follow up a bilirubin, group and coombes. Otherwise a
bit of sun and feeding and observe them, and watch
things resolve. Hope that is helpful. Janet---
