As far as I know the legislation is the same in Scotland - Ancient
Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979. Sound familiar?

Andrew,
I agree - this list should cover all UK regions. Is the Scottish situation
covered by separate legislation - ie do we need two terms in the list to
cover this?

Probably not, since you are hoping to standardise for the UK as a whole
rather than England. Although England has changed them to Scheduled
Monuments, in Scotland they are still Scheduled Ancient Monuments (SAM).
