I don't know what you mean by 'anti-science'...what does this mean? For my
part science means 'knowledge' or an activity to pursue knowledge about
something. To seek knowledge regarding environmental justice is not only to
read about what is 'archived' away in the past, or understand what theories
exist
now, but to arrive at a new state of 'praxis' where
environmental justice is encountered, and often for the first time.
They are letting know...not just standing around....
It seems to me that protestors are required to arrive at a state of
environmental justice. There would be no globalization without their
presence, and these folks appear to be necessary for the 'king and his
lessor monarchs'. An example that comes to mind is the existence of a
lawyers class. Without criminals and civil wrongs in a society there would
be no need for a lawyer class; the super star capitalists create their own
class that necessitates another class of despised, over-worked, and wretched
ones. Which class is the criminal, and civic minded class?
The super star capitalists require, and depend on the
over-exploitation of the undercapitalists; they are the predators and
parasatoid class.
There is only one hierarchy here
and it is a food heirarchy. The 'super-star capitalists' have designed a
system of robbing, and stealing that appears as a legal mechanism that they
can defend...but whether it is illegal or immoral or not, it is a 'food
hierarchy' and there are no other hierarchies in nature....While the super
star capitalists meet to 'tweak' the works so as to extract a bit more
capital or fat or butter from their facilities and operations in the quise
of efficiency and
progress, the over-exploited, and nearly depleted have no recourse but to
show their presence and complain bitterly about essentials such as clean
water, clean air, and fully functioning ecosystems, fair wages, etc.
But quilds and classes are scientists searching for some form of justice;
they are both classes of scientists because they are participating in a
trial, an experiment in social consciousness or sensibility, and they are
awaiting an 'enacting judgement' which will transform their own
efficiencies.
It is funny but there have been Amerindians that left the Amazon jungle,
left the jungle without any formal education, and began directly taking a
PhD in anthropology. They obviously know a lot more about their own
anthropology than does the veteran anthropologist who began studying the
same tribe at an early age in university.
I think that the 'under-capitalists' are actually more important as
scientists [knowledge seekers] than the 'super star-capitalists' because the
'under-capitalists' are more sensible. The 'super-capitalists' can hire
guards, construct electric wire fences, etc., to protect them from reality
as it is experienced by about 5.5 billion persons on this earth who have to
work [or starve]. The 'super-capitalist' makes himself 'insensible' to the
needs of the workers, therefore 'unscientific' or as Steven pouts, peons of
'anti-science'.
What is knowledge? And what is science?
I think it is a 'system of substitution' ...in fact.....
