Hello, Robin,
May I introduce myself? I'm "-Tc" on the list - Tony Chiaviello -
and I'm very interested in New Zealand. Have been planning a trip there for
a year or so, but can't seem to put it together at the right time (Dec here
being yr high season, June being winter, etc etc, the limits of academic
free time).
I just saw an ad for a job there, paying NZ$55,000. Is that typical
or less than usual? When converted to US it seems an oddly small figure. I'm
interested in doing a Fulbright there, at least, to see if I could make it
as an immigrant (hey, my great-grandfather was one!).
I'd appreciate any information you may have and will refrain from
the extremist rhetoric - that's just for enviroethics entertainment (I hope
neither you nor anyone else is offended by the rather too warm words
exchanged on the list.
By the way, I'm in my early 50s, have the Ph.D. in rhetoric and
professional communication from New Mexico State U., was formerly a
journalist then PR flack.
Please do tell about NZ!
yr, humble servant,
-Tc
