Hi
Could be Transient Hyperphosphatasemia of Infancy. A benign condition
often associated with a mild viral illness without any clinical or
biochemical evidence of liver or bone disease. ALP normalises within
approx 3-4 months.Reviewed in arch pathol med vol119, 1995.

We have a thin 6 year old girl with Downs syndrome who has an alk
phos of 11,670 u/l ( reference range for growing child <900 .PNP
methodology.). It is likely that she has coeliac disease. All her
other LFT,s are normal.I can just remember seeing this before in the
Lancet where it was described in ?Japan as an inherited anomaly of
no clinical consequence.Anybody know anything about this subject?
